English IV is a survey course in World Literature organized according to conceptual themes. Students are given a broad overview of the literature of non-Western countries, the eras that gave rise to the literature, and the ways in which cultural contexts influence our interpretations of literature. An emphasis on increasing reading, writing, and language skills is integrated throughout all units of study.
Honors English IV incorporates a stronger focus on forms of literary analysis and criticism as well as a heavier emphasis on developing college-bound writing skills.
guiding question of our course: How does context influence the way we read and interpret texts? |
